Completed: Phase 1 2006 Phase 2 January 2010

Phase 1
A new building 2,900m2 clinical and public functions including GP’s/family doctors and nurse practitioners; a minor operation suite; a range of community services through the PCT, health visitors, district nurses, school nurses, mental health, intermediate care, PCT Dentistry suite, and optometry suite, office and conference accommodation.

Phase 2
After successfully completing phase one, Morgan Sindall was awarded phase two of this health centre development scheme. This involved demolishing the original two-storey masonry health centre and replacing it with a brand new 1630m² extension.

Interconnecting the two developments
The new extension is split over three levels and connects to our previously completed building on two levels. It accommodates a large open plan reception area, office accommodation and treatment rooms.

We designed and installed the frame accurately so that the levels in the new building were consistent with those in the existing building we were joining onto. This allowed us to break through the new building into the old to create one new centre for the two independent structures.
