In 2022, Interclass was commissioned to refurbish Block A at Kidderminster Hospital for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The project, completed in a live healthcare setting, involved a soft strip-out, removal of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), and the construction of a new metal deck and roof covering, along with a first-floor fit-out.
Given the live healthcare environment, site logistics were complex, with site cabins and welfare units located on the opposite side of the hospital. Managing access, egress, and deliveries required constant mitigation strategies and a ‘just in time’ delivery approach to ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.
The project was completed on time and within budget, demonstrating Interclass’ commitment to efficient and effective project management in challenging environments.
