Under the Constructing West Midlands (CWM) Framework, Interclass completed a new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Kidderminster as part of the UK government’s £350 million investment in community-based diagnostics.
The new CDC provides an additional CT scanner, a new three-room endoscopy unit which doubled the capacity of the existing unit, and an additional ultrasound room in addition to the two already in place for patients across Worcestershire. These enhancements aim to expedite scans and diagnoses for Worcestershire patients, ensuring faster access to comprehensive diagnostic tests.
Starting in October 2021 with an eight-week enabling works programme, the main construction completed in April 2022. Working within a live, occupied building, Interclass coordinated closely with hospital staff to minimise disruption, establishing a temporary cabin area for uninterrupted service provision.
